About

Passionate composer, arranger, flutist,  and conductor working towards composing professionally for video games and concert ensembles. Experienced in writing orchestral, concert band, chamber ensemble, electronic, metal, and rock music. 

Masse, born in 2001, is a resident of southern Rhode Island and began studying music via flute lessons at the age of 12. In high school, he started studying composition and music theory, completing an independent study project piece for the school band to perform. After enrolling at URI, his work flourished, resulting in the performances of his work including: Chronicle by the URI symphony Orchestra,  Fictional Folk Songs by the URI Concert Band, Suite for String Orchestra by the South Kingstown String Orchestra and others. Other performances include student performances of video game inspired pieces, chamber works, Path from his debut EP Mountaintop, and a few performances featuring his progressive metal tracks. 

At the University of Rhode Island, Masse studied composition with Dr. Eliane Aberdam and

Dr. Bill Longo. He also studied conducting in an independent study with Dr. Brian Cardany, and worked with Dr. Luis Viquez preparing his score and conducting in rehearsal for the debut of Chronicle. ​

Masse attended the video game scoring workshop at NYU as well as the North American Conference of Video Game Music 2023. He was awarded the Presser Scholar Award by the University of Rhode Island in 2023, and Pi Kappa Lambda membership in 2024. He has also been awarded the Thorp Scholarship by the Westerly band. In 2024, Masse was the winner of URI’s inaugural Composition Contest, with the performance of Chronicle on April 27, 2024.
